Synopsis: A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of curious photographs.

A horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a deserted island for good reason. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.

A spine-tingling fantasy illustrated with haunting vintage photography, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children will delight adults, teens, and anyone who relishes an adventure in the shadows.

My Thoughts: Very unique story line and wonderfully written. I really enjoyed reading this book and even though it takes a while for things to develop, once you're into the plot it's hard to stop reading. As much as I enjoyed the book and already purchased the second book the end doesn't necessarily leave me with a need to immediately start the next book to see where the story goes.

Jacob, our main character, goes on a very personal journey to discover the truth of his grandfathers past and on the journey he meets a new set of peculiar friends. In the end Jacob has to decide between leaving the life he has always know and starting a new life on the run with his peculiar friends. I did find it a little different that Jacobs love interest is his grandfathers old girlfriend. Overall I enjoyed the story and am curious to see what happens next.

Gracyn soon learns that things are not what they appear to be. Even her sister who took her in is hiding something. Will Gracyn continue pursuing her goal of getting accepted to a top-notch university, or will the secrets of the past and present ruin her future?

My Thoughts:  I absolutely loved this book and could not set it down this weekend!! The author has a way of giving you just enough information and intrigue that it's hard to stop reading. I just needed to know what was going to happen next and find out the big secret reveal at the end. I loved the characters in this book and cannot wait until this fall to find out where the story will lead them. I am especially interested to see where Gracyn and Lucian's relationship will go in the next book Gypsy Soul. I loved reading Gracyn's story and cannot wait for more. This is one of those books that while you're reading it's so easy to visualize you almost forget you're actually reading a book and not watching your own personal movie. Definitely recommend!

Shortly after moving there, Mel and Karen find a journal belonging to a long dead relative of Mel’s. However, as they read the diary, they quickly discover that the author of the journal may not, in fact, be dead after all - at least not in the way they believe.

As the pages fly, Karen and Mel will discover that the author has lived a most extraordinary life, and that they have a lot more in common with the author than they realize. While Mel and Karen immerse themselves in the journal, there is still a real-life threat hunting them down.

What secrets will Mel and Karen discover in the pages of the journal? Will they be able to escape the clutches of Karen’s husband, or will history repeat itself?

My Thoughts: My favorite book by TL Coulter so far! I loved every minute and the plot kept me so caught up constantly wondering what would happen next!! Of course I'm always partial to a good vampire book...but with this book you're getting two stories in one. Reading about the lives of our main characters, Karen and Mel, while also learning the history behind our vampire, Allison. TL Coulter always has a way of making me love and feel connected to the characters in each of her books. I absolutely loved the plot and loved that this is a stand alone book where you aren't waiting a year to know what happens in the next book. I really enjoyed reading between journal entries of Allison in her past and the obstacles Karen and Mel have to overcome, I just kept telling myself one more chapter which ended with me finishing the book in a day...oops. I would definitely recommend this book to any lover of fantasy or even historical fiction.

Review: The Power (Titan Series #2) by Jennifer L Armentrout

The Power (Titan Series #2)
by Jennifer L Armentrout
Genre: New Adult Paranormal
Publication Date: February 23rd, 2016

Purchase your copy today
Amazon / Barnes & Noble

Synopsis: With any great change, there is always strife, and the Covenant University has become the front line between pure-bloods who want the Breed Order reinstated and the half-bloods who want the right to control their own destinies.
Fate has other plans.
The violence is escalating and war between the races seems inevitable, and it couldn’t come at a worse time. Hyperion may be out of commission, but Josie and Seth know they have only earned a reprieve.  Seth must get Josie fully prepared, which means controlling her new found abilities, and they need to find the other demigods before the Titans do.
But the gods are sensing a greater threat.
Only one thing is more dangerous than a bunch of starved Titans, and that’s an out-of-control Apollyon. The aether in Josie is drawing Seth in deeper, and when lust mixes with love and gives way to power, he knows being close to her is not only dangerous to her, but to everyone around them, but letting her go requires a level of selflessness that just isn’t Seth’s style.
The paths taken in the past are becoming the roads of the future.
Just as chaos breaks out, familiar faces from the past return, complicating the already strained bond between Josie and Seth, and when the danger from the Titans erupts with devastating consequences, the dark allure of power calls to Seth again, but this time Josie might not be able to pull him back.
And when the struggle between power and love becomes the deadliest battleground, there may be no salvation.
My Thoughts: Gods!! What an ending and beginning and to be honest a middle!!! This series is so addicting and impossible not to love!!! I could never get bored reading about the lives of each one of these characters! My heart breaks for them while also filling so full! Things start right off with our lovely lead characters Josie and Seth... Sigh.... Throughout the plot you see the constant struggle Seth has with what he wants and what he thinks he deserves. This series continues to dig further into the inter workings of our dream boat Seth and no mater what he does it's impossible to be upset with him.  Him and Josie have some very hot heart pounding scenes, there is no putting this book down. We also get to see a couple of my very favorite people, thank the gods, Adian and Alex! Adding to the excitement and drama of the story!

Between the heated connection of our main characters and the ever developing story line of the Titans on the loose and trying to get Josie I was able to finish the book in a couple days. Constantly in a fight with myself while reading, taking it slow and enjoying every minute and wanting to read every detail now, oh the struggle!  Now my struggle is waiting until 2017 for the third book, sad face..... Over and over again I just absolutely love reading every detail JLA writes. There is no going wrong picking up one of her books!

Find out in Restoration if they are able to complete their final mission. Will they succeed? Or will America be lost forever.

Fight for Freedom, Fight to Live, Fight for Restoration.

My Thoughts: I loved reading this book I couldn't put it down and ended up reading it all over the weekend. The plot is constantly active leaving the reader no time to lose interest. From the very start our leading gal, Clara, stays strong with the recent loss of a love while trying to continue plans with the rest of the assassins to free the Americas.

It always amazes me when an author is able to make you feel so connected to the characters, and I loved everyone. Meeting each and every character and feeling emotionally affected by the obstacles they have to overcome. I had goosebumps when a couple good characters were lost in the restoration of America. The closing of the story was maybe a little too perfectly tied up leaving the reader with no questions as to whom will end up with whom. I absolutely loved the epilogue and thought it was a wonderful completion to this story!
