Synopsis: This Halloween, prepare to be haunted by a kiss…

Midnight Kiss is a limited edition collection of four BRAND NEW, NEVER RELEASED novellas, all set in New Orleans on Halloween night.

AFTER MIDNIGHT by Sarra Cannon
From the outside, Becca Goldberg looks like any normal freshman girl at Tulane, but she’s been keeping a terrible secret. She’s really Allison Moore—a young witch from Peachville hiding out from an evil coven of witches known as the Order of Shadows. She thinks she is safe until an unexpected accident occurs. Now, she only has until midnight on Halloween until her identity is discovered.

She must turn to the hottest, most elusive guy on campus for help. Will he help save her? Or will her life come crashing down around her after midnight?

THE MIDNIGHT TEST by Juliana Haygert
Being the weakest witch of her generation, nineteen-year-old Hazel is convinced she’s supposed to live a normal, human life—except for the occasional ghost hunting. When Hazel moves to New Orleans, the most powerful witch coven in the world grants her a chance to join them, but only if she passes a dangerous test on Halloween night. Everything is going fine until mysterious Sean steps in Hazel’s way, putting her entire test at risk.

Will she be able to ace the test and keep them both alive at the same time?

SEDUCTION’S KISS by Alyssa Rose Ivy
Never agree to a road trip to New Orleans with your roommate. At least not when your roommate is dragging you along while she reconnects with an ex boyfriend. Possible consequences of failing to take my advice:

1) Unknowingly going out with a vampire stripper.
2) Getting kidnapped by said vampire’s nest mates.
3) Falling head over heels for your winged hero.

Believe it or not number 3 is the worst one, especially when no one believes you that he exists.

KISS OF AWAKENING by Jennifer Snyder
With one kiss, everything will change…

When a mysterious letter arrives from her estranged mother, twenty-one year old Kenna Blake and her best friend, Bree, make a trip to New Orleans hoping for a little Halloween fun and to get away. The mystifying Crescent City has something else in store for her though.

Cryptic messages, a hot tour guide, and a new sense Kenna can’t seem to explain are just the beginning of this eye opening trip. Will Kenna accept what awakens with in her or will she crumble under its reality?

My Thoughts: Loved this collection paranormal novellas what a great group of authors to put into one book. I loved that each story had the Midnight Cauldron in New Orleans on Halloween incorporated to tie them together. I definitely downloaded the books tied to each story. Each story was uniquely amazing and addicting! I definitely recommend this book as a must read this October to get you in the Halloween mood.

The story I loved the most was Seductions Kiss by Alyssa Rose Ivy. Ever since I read The Crescent Chronicles I have loved Owen, don't get me wrong Levi is great but I have been hoping for more story on Owen.  I am so glad we get a little piece into his life and I really hope there will be more for Daisy and Owen in the near future. Loved this short story just wish there was more of Owen!

I also really enjoyed was After Midnight, Allison and John are hard not to love. I was so happy to read the very end definitely making me giddy!! I want to know more about this world and hope there will be more of Allison and John to come!

Now don't get me wrong I have only great things to say about each story even if I picked my favorites. Each story grabbed me in it's own way and I cannot wait to read more by each author!!

King Tomb (Forever Evermore Book 3)

King Tomb (Forever Evermore Book 3)
by Scarlett Dawn
Publication Date: October 8th, 2014
Genres: Paranormal Romance, New Adult Fantasy
Pre-order your copy:
Amazon / iBookstore / Kobo

Synopsis: From Scarlett Dawn comes the stunning, sexy, sensual, surprising, spell-binding conclusion to the bestselling first Forever Evermore trilogy.

Queen Shifter, Lily Ruckler, has found solace in brutal warfare. Her bloodied fists and bared fangs fill the holes left in her memory, the blank spaces that leave her soul aching and empty. Her only pleasure is in blood; her only salvation is the relationship she has with her infant child, the baby of unknown origins who brings her solace and stability.

When Elder Harcourt summons Lily and her protector Antonio back to the United States, Lily thinks nothing unusual about the change of location. But a standard reconnaissance mission leaves her trapped inside King Zeller’s private quarters, and at his mercy. Surprise attraction rapidly turns to a battle of wills and an intense power struggle that leaves no clear victor but plenty of resentment.

They are not allowed to nurse their wounds. In order to win the war against the Commoners, the King Vampire and Queen Shifter must work together. It should be easy. The war is turning, the battle is deadly, and both Lily and Ezra love the cold cleanliness of combat. But their chance meeting has led to more than an unlikely alliance. Secrets have a way of surfacing, especially on a torn-up battlefield, and Lily and Ezra are about to re-learn all they cannot remember. If they can’t control their emotions and responses, it will be to their own ruin and the destruction of everything around them.

Synopsis and Review of
King Hall (Book 1) / King Cave (book 2)

My Thoughts: There is just no going back after reading Scarlett Dawn's work; she is a magician when it comes to writing. I honestly have a hard time explaining how amazing this series is, the range of emotions I experienced reading this book went from empathy to loathing to extreme joy to extremely heated to laugh out loud surprised back to extreme joy to I need more about these amazing characters I have fallen in love with.  I currently am in the middle of a book hangover, I read this book in 24 hours because once I started there was no stopping. I feel like if I pick up another book right now that nothing can compare to the amazingness of what I just read, of course I am being a little over dramatic right now but that is what this story does to you. I would definitely say, for me, this is on my list of top 5 favorite fantasy series I think everyone should read.

After the heartbreaking ending to King Cave I was distraught having to wait for King Tomb to come out, eating up every little surprise excerpt Scarlett Dawn posted to get me by while I waited. Thank goodness this book jumps right in to the juicy goodness of Lily and Ezra's forgotten love affair. I was able to fall in love all over again with their relationship, even if it starts out a bit rocky to say the least. I loved reading as they both slowly began to put the pieces together and that moment when Lily sees Ezra holding Isa was to die for. Everything was perfectly put together keeping me on my toes the whole time, and unable to stop reading. Another great part is the surprise love affair that left me shocked and uncontrollably laughing out loud with my husband looking at me like I was crazy. Amazing job by Scarlet Dawn I could not have asked for more out of this story, I just hope that throughout the rest of the Forever Evermore Series these characters I have grown to love will continue to make an appearance. The next book Chosen Thief, Book 4 in the Forever Evermore Series is expected to release Mach 8th, 2015.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Scarlett Dawn is the author of the Forever Evermore new adult fantasy series, which include King Hall and King Cave. She lives in the Midwest, where she loves to 'people watch' and daydream. She adores her music loud and her fries covered in cheese. She is drawn to all things quirky and off-beat. She believes there are no boundaries for an imaginative soul. Her love of the written word started at an early age, when her grandmother would take her to bookstores every weekend. Dreams came alive within the books she found there, and now, she is thrilled to share her stories with others who have fallen under the spell of taking fantastical journeys.

Dire (The Dire Wolves Chronicles)

Alyssa Rose Ivy Website
Book Details: Written by Bestselling New Adult and Young Adult author Alyssa Rose Ivy. Publication date September 15th, 2014. Check it out on Goodreads.
Genre: New Adult Paranormal Romance

Synopsis: Gage was the first guy I ever wanted. He was my first crush and my first fantasy, but he wasn't my first in any other way because he never saw me as anything more than a friend— at least not until the night that changed everything.

It was all Gage's fault. He insisted we drive through the storm and take the back roads. By the time the storm hit full force we had no chance. One night of snowbound sex changed our relationship forever. The problem was at the same time I caught another guy’s attention. This other guy happens to be the alpha of a pack of shifter wolves.

My thoughts: What an ending!!! I cannot believe everything that just happened, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! I could not set this book down and finished it in one day!! I was very excited that this story takes place in the same world as The Crescent Chronicle, I cannot wait to see how the books all tie together!! This world of the paranormal society that Alyssa Rose Ivy has created is so unique and one you feel you could jump right into. Again, she does an amazing job creating such addicting characters you can't help but feel connected to them.

Right away Gage and Mary Anne's relationship takes a steamy, heart pounding turn, leaving you excited for more. After that point though things get pretty scary and stressful for the two lead characters. Looking for help after an accident leads them into the arms of Hunter and his pack and it doesn't seem to get any easier from there, just one problem after the next! With that epic ending the author leaves you marveling what is in store for Mary Anne and Gage the next book, Dusk.

The Obsidian Collection

Divine Nine Facebook

Book Details: A collection of nine dark love novellas, written by Rebel Adams, Scarlett Dawn, Bev Elle, Nicole Flockton, Lara Henley, Missy Johnson, Angel Lawson, T.H. Snyder, Emily Walker. Publication date June 23rd, 2014. 593 Pages

My Thoughts: Great collection of stories, each uniquely catching it their own way!! The Divine Nine did an amazing job compiling an addicting set of short stories.  I would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys a little romance. Can't wait to read their next installment The Lace Collection. Individual Reviews Below.

Obsidian Escape
 Rebel Adams

"Just one look at the battered form of Whitney Geddings awakens a fierce protective instinct in Detective Jackson Ogden...but at what price?"

Great story, grabs your attention immediately! I enjoyed how you can see Detective Ogden going through these stages of realizing he is in love for the first time after his wife died 7 years earlier. Whitney just needed the right man to love her and luckily Jackson found her before it was too late.

Obsidian Liquor
Scarlett Dawn

"Reporter, Elizabeth Forter, never expected one drunken challenge to leave her sexually satisfied and waking beside Daniil - the head of the Russian mafia."

Addicting! I couldn't get enough and could not put the story down! I was so caught up in every minute! Really gets your heart pumping! Daniil is overbearing and kind all at the right times. Scarlett Dawn knows how to really pull you into the story. I wish there was more I just want to keep reading about this group of characters.

Obsidian Faith
 Bev Elle

"Shanice Bailey’s epic faith in Trevor Kyle, the man she’s loved since they were both wards at the Baptist Children's Home, is shaken when his sketchy foster father shows up on their honeymoon."

Very heartfelt, you just can't help feeling bad for Trevor and everything he has to endure in his life. Thankfully he has Shanice as the one constant beckon of hope if his life, never giving up on him after constant times of him trying to push her away to keep her safe. Great writing so much background story over such a long period of time in just a short story. It's amazing how attached to the character you become in so little writing.

Obsidian Heart
Nicole Flockton

"Will Erika's holiday fling with Brandt bring him out of the shadows, or is his heart destined for darkness?"

Entertaining! Erika travels on a get away vacation after a breakup with her boyfriend of four years and meets Brandt. Brandt seems like a hunk. Had a had time with his personality but overall liked the characters. Not as addicting as some of the other stories so far.

Obsidian Sky
Lara Henley

"When military man, Brandon Michaels, comes home to a town he no longer recognizes, his salvation may rest in Arabella Knight, a woman who has secrets that no one knows."

So sweet, I really enjoyed the characters, Brandon was a little too intense for me but they seemed cute together. I loved that they both had been waiting for each other without the other realizing it. Cute story just wanted to keep reading.

Obsidian Ice
Missy Johnson

"Medical intern Cam Fletcher knew becoming a surgeon would be hard work, but what he wasn't counting on was falling for his mentor - cocky surgeon Eric Langdon."

I really enjoyed Cam's character he seemed like a sweet guy just in the wrong relationship and for too long. Definitely not my usual read. Was a little out of my comfort zone with this one but the story and writing were well done, but probably won't be reading that again.

Obsidian Jewel
Angel Lawson

"Professional thieves, competitors, and occasional lovers, Maya Clarke and Malcolm Kent, must work together for the job of a lifetime and try not to kill one another while doing it."

Very entertaining! A great story could not put it down. Loved the idea of these two professional thieves working together with the FBI to uncover a lost treasure and finding more than they could have ever planned. Loved Maya's character, quite the spit fire putting Malcolm in his place.

Obsidian Desire
T.H. Snyder

"Can one chivalrous act change Tyler Jones, a coldhearted man, or will desire burn through his soul and change him forever?"

Super cute story, I loved the two main characters together. Wish they would have realized what they had from the beginning but that's the way life is sometimes. They had to make it through the heart ache to find real love.

Obsidian Beauty
Emily Walker

"Out of jail and finally ready to confront the man who left her there to rot, Abigail Rivers is upset to learn Benton Sellers has moved on with no regard for the sacrifices she has made for him."

Great characters, I really enjoyed the story line and Abigail's personality. Couldn't put it down and loved watching her string along Scott until their stake out on Benton.  Glad things seemed to start working out for her after so much time when it just didn't.

They must travel to Edom a realm of hell inhabited by demons to save their loved ones. Things get hot and heavy in more ways than one for not only Clary and Jace but Simon and Isabelle. The story gives you ups and downs and twists and turns for this finale, leaving you laughing crying and for a few pages there shocked.

My Thoughts: I can't even put into words how much I loved this book!! The author does an amazing job tying everything up to make it the perfect ending!! I love her writing I cannot get enough, you can feel the connection between all the characters just radiating off the pages as you read. The author just goes so deep into bringing all the books from this series together and the Infernal Instruments Series, that I cannot wait to see what happens in the next series The Dark Artifices book one Lady Midnight coming Fall 2015.  So much happens in this book it's hard to even go into the details but let me just say there was a moment when I almost lost it, you'll know what I mean when you read it. Thankfully things work themselves out by the end and I loved every second of it!!

The Key (The Arcadian Series Book One)

T.L. Coulter Blog
Book Details: Written by T. L. Coulter. Published March 27th, 2014. 396 Pages. You can purchase a hard copy or digital copy at Barnes & Noble / Amazon

The Key Synopsis: Rek, our leading man, and his brother Audric are from the realm of magicians. Rek is sent to the mortal realm with little instruction to find the key needed to save his realm against an evil traitor. Kailee, our leading lady, is senior in high school living in the mortal realm in Astoria, Oregon. Kailee has always had a hard time making friends because her aunt and uncle relocate for work every few years, since living in Astoria she met her best friend Gabe.

Rek enrolls in the local high school in Astoria knowing the key is somewhere within based on a locator spell he was able to cast. The second Rek and Kailee lock eyes at school there is instant chemistry, although Kailee tries to fight it for as long as possible. It finally takes Gabe befriending Rek for Kailee to give him any chance at a possible friendship. All the while Rek is trying, but failing, at locating the key. It's not until Astrid, an acquaintance from his realm, joins Rek as his "cousin" in the mortal realm do they figure it out.

Kailee finally agrees to spend time with Rek alone when Gabe can't come along. From that point on there is no turning back from their feelings towards each other and the chemistry between them.  When Rek finds out who the key is he is crushed because of a prophecy stating that the key is destined to marry his older brother Audric. Rek tries to come to terms with that revaluation but it's eating away at his heart. Kailee takes the information about another realm of magicians where Rek is from very well, only losing her temper with her family and friends a few times.

Kailee agrees to go back to this other realm to help save the kingdom of Arcadia. While there Audric is instantly taken with Kailee and instead of telling Audric the truth Kailee and Rek pretend they have no feelings for each other. This only causes Rek to start drinking and arguing with his brother for no reason. In the end they all work together to save the kingdom or so they think.

My Thoughts: I loved this story! I had some trouble getting into the flow of it right away because I was trying understand where things were going, but the more I read the more I loved. By the end of the book I couldn't put it down! I just wish I knew what was going to happen next especially with that cliff hanger of an ending! Great story with magicians and a forbidden romance. I love the idea of different realms where magicians live separate from the mortal realm. I feel terrible for Audric, Rek and Kailee need to just tell him the truth instead of pretending they don't love each other!  I was intrigued by all the main characters personalities it will be interesting to see how everything plays out in the end and who will end up with who.

Seeress (A Runes Novel 3)

Ednah Walters Website

Book Details: Written by YA Paranormal and Fantasy author Ednah Walters. Published April 28th, 2014. 296 Pages. You can purchase a hard copy or digital copy at Barnes & Noble /Smashwords /Amazon

Synopsis of Seeress: Raine is your typical teenage girl surrounded by Valkyries, individuals who take souls to Valhalla to train, and immortals. Raine is also a Seeress destined to predict the beginning of the end of the world war against the giants. At the end of Immortals we discover that Eirik is the grandson of Odin and is sent Asgard for safety, Cora was being impersonated by the evil Meliina and can see spirits and Raine is an all powerful Seeress working on honing her skills.

Raine begins to have visions when she touches anything with a magical element involved, such as an old necklace or ring. At first she cannot control what she sees and everything is blurry, but she knows she is seeing the deaths of other seers and from what Torin can find out she can see them as they are happening. Torin has a hard time watching Raine when she receives her visions because he cannot help her while they are happening and he can see that they are affecting her emotionally.  These vision not only show that some unknown person, who looks very similar to Torin, is hurting other seers but that he is also looking for Raine. With the help of her friends she begins to have more control over her new powers.

With the news of someone coming for Raine, Torin and his friends begin to put up protective runes all around town while also spreading the word that someone is coming after other seers. While all this is happening Raine's mother is in Asgard requesting to be reinstated as a Valkyrie and Raine's father is slowly dying and hanging in by a thread. With everything happening in Raine's life she still tries to have a few normal moments here and there with picnics in the park, a double date with Cora and Echo and prom. A new group of witches move to their small town of Kayville, adding to the already crazy group of paranormals living there. Thankfully some of the witches help Raine clear up her visions while other witches end up implanting fake visions to try and confuse her. Eirik shows up at the end with a surprise twist in events leaving everyone wondering what is going on with him. Torin is reunited with a few distant relations and battle of powers at the end leaving trees uprooted has you wondering what will happen next.

My Thoughts: Continues to be a very addicting series!! All the characters are amazing and have developed such great relationships with each other, you never would have guessed that from the first book Runes. The story really develops in this book with the surprising discovery of who is after Raine and killing other seers. It also dives into Torin's family history which I always love since he is almost a thousand years old. More of my favorite side story from Grimnirs with Cora and Echo. Raine and Torin are super cute and obviously completely in love with each other even if they are a little obnoxious when they are fighting. The norns continue to be a pain in the butt for the group always trying to push their own agenda on Raine.

continue to love this series and the novellas, I have a very hard time putting these books down. The ending was great leaving you wanting more but not leaving you hanging, I have a hard time when something major happens and you have to wait a year to find out.  I cannot wait to see what Ednah has in store for us next in the Runes series.
